ABOUT THE COURSE
Realizing the importance of vocational courses, the college has started Certificate/ Diploma/ Advance Diploma Add- on Courses in Computer Applications. Add-on courses are short-term training programs that are designed to supplement the core curriculum of a degree program. These courses are usually offered as certificate or diploma courses, and they provide students with additional skills and knowledge that are relevant to their field of study. In the first year, a student can earn a Certificate Course, in the second year an Advanced Certificate Course and in the third year a Diploma Course. He / she is free to complete one Course or all the three courses.
ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA:
- Students of B.A. /B.Sc. / B.Com. (Only regular students) with the minimum percentage of 50 % in 10+2, Examination can join any of the above-mentioned courses.
- Maximum age limit is 23 years for boys and 25 years for girls as on July 1, 2024. • For SC/ST candidates, a relaxation of three years in age is allowed.

ABOUT THE COURSE
Since its inception in 2011, the BCA department of Government College Arki is imparting the Computer Science Education and inspiring young minds to achieve excellence in the field of Computer Science.
The department specifically laid emphasizes on value based quality education in Computer Application and the curriculum reflects the in-depth and wide range knowledge of Computer Application by focusing on practical understanding through technology. This is a three year under graduate course, which comes under self-financing scheme. The total number of seats in BCA Course is 20, which is likely to increase up to 40.

MODE OF SELECTION
The admission to BCA course will be made on the basis of merit of the qualifying examination. As per H.P. University rules 75 % seats will be filled out of the candidates who have passed their 10+2 examination from the school situated in Himachal Pradesh irrespective of the Board. Remaining 25% seats will be filled on all India basis. Other reservation rules of H.P. University shall be applicable.
ELIGIBILITY
Candidates who have passed 10+2 examination from H.P. Board/CBSE/ICSE or any other examination considered equivalent to 10+2, by the Himachal Pradesh University, Shimla 05, with 40% Marks (35% marks for SC/ST category), shall be eligible.
Maximum age limit for admission to BCA course is 21 years for general category, 24 years for SC/ST category and 23 years for girl’s candidates, as on 1st July of the year concerned. The Vice Chancellor may permit age relaxation up to maximum of three months.
PGDCA
ABOUT THE COURSE
Postgraduate diploma in computer applications is a one-year diploma course split over two semesters, leading to the award of Diploma in Computer Applications, from Himachal Pradesh University. The course aimed to provide technical, communication and professional skills for professional experience in the sector of computer science. It is a popular course for those who want to enter the IT industry or enhance their existing knowledge in the field.

MODE OF SELECTION
The admission to PGDCA shall be made on the basis of merit in graduation.
ELIGIBILITY
Graduation in any discipline or equivalent of any University established by law in India with 50% marks (45% marks in case of Scheduled Caste/ Scheduled Tribe). Students appearing in examination of final year of Graduation course may also apply provided they fulfill eligibility conditions at the time of counseling.
The maximum age limit is 28 years on July 1, 2024 for general category candidates and 29years for candidates belonging to SC/ST category.
