Department of Sanskrit

The department of Sanskrit is one of the oldest department among the humanities subjects of government college Arki. It it has been established with the inception of college in 1994. A very large number of the students opt for political science as an elective subject. The department offers compulsrory and elective courses affiliated to HP University Shimla. The objectives of the discipline are to make students familiarize with ancient knowledge and wisdom writ in Sanskrit language. The chief objective of the department is to save Sanskrit language from dying in oblivion and to preserve this language in its original status of being called as mother of all languages. Since its inception the department is working very well in the field of ancient languages and to revive the sanctity of our culture.
