Literary Club

The Literary Club of Govt. College Arki is committed to tap the effective communication talent among the students and enable their talents with cutting edge. It aims to develop their analytical and creative thinking skills. It offers opportunities to appreciate different types of literature and refine their own literary skills, also developing in them logic and curiosity to know more and to instill in them a confidence to speak well. It is a club made for people who love literature, and want to share their experiences, readings and thoughts with others who have the same interests and talents.

Objectives of the Club

    The Literary Club organizes various activities from time to time:
  1. To inculcate within its members elite oratory skills, interpersonal skills, communication skills needed for personal interviews, group discussions, etc.
  2. To help the members explore the depths of literary criticism and analysis as well as develop a sense of literary appreciation.
  3. To help them groom their personalities so that they feel confident about themselves.
  4. To eradicate any fear lingering in one's mind regarding proficiency in any language.
  5. To help the members do away with their Stage Fear

Red Ribbon Club

Red Ribbon Club is a movement started by the Government of India in College through which students will spread awareness about HIV/AIDS. The Red Ribbon as an awareness ribbon is used as the symbol for the solidarity of people living with HIV/AIDS and for the awareness and presentation of drug abuse and drunk driving. Red Ribbon international is an organization founded in 1993 whose main purpose is the education about prevention of the Human Immunodeficiency Virus or HIV.

Electoral Literacy Club

An Electoral Literacy Club is a platform to engage college students through interesting activities and hands-on experience to sensitize them on their electoral rights and familiarize them with the electoral process of registration and voting. In ELCs various activities and Games are designed to stimulate and motivate students provoking them to think and ask questions. Through ELC, Election Commission of India aims at strengthening the culture of electoral participation among young and future voters.

Road Safety Club . Govt College Arki, Solan, Estd. - 2021

Road Safety Club, Govt College Arki, Solan, Estd. - 2021 As per the directions of Directorate of Higher Education Govt of Himachal Pradesh Notification no. EDN-HE(21)F(10)13/2021 – Road Safety dated 17-03-2022 regarding establishment of Road Safety Clubs in Educational Institutions, a road safety club was formed the college to educate the students about the firsthand knowledge of traffic rules, signals, road signage, road markings and required measures to be taken to avoid undue loss of precious human lives and injuries due to the road traffic accidents & also to make them behave like responsible citizens at an early age. Further to help them learn how to behave as a pedestrian and what precautions are to be taken as a pedestrian to avoid any untoward incident. This club would physically associate them with the working of regulation of traffic with Police department for practical training in order to make them know how the things are managed and what measures and precautions are required while executing traffic regulation and what laws/ rules are required to be followed for safer driving.

Anti Drug Abuse Club

The club supports the proactive interventions by Government, NGOs, de-addiction centres etc for a drug free world.

Objectives of the Club: To ensure a drug free campus. To engage the students in anti- narcotic activities. Motivate students to become volunteers of anti-narcotic activities in their life. The club also aims to protect our nation's youth from the horrors of drug abuse, using highly effective tactics to foster their bright futures.
The activities of the club: include boundless program through awareness lectures, public rallies, competitions, poster exhibitions, organizing campaigns etc.

Eco Club promotes the participation of students and teachers in knowing and improving our environment. The club aims to create mass awareness and incorporate as many people as possible to understand our environment. Its objectives are:

  • To instill love and responsibility towards nature
  • To make students understand environment and environmental problems
  • To minimize the use of plastic bags
  • To create awareness of bio-diversity conservation and local environmental issues
  • To create a clean and green consciousness among students through various innovative methods

ROVERS & RANGERS

The Bharat Scouts & Guides is an inclusive educational initiative for youth, operating on a voluntary and non-partisan basis, welcoming individuals of all backgrounds without discrimination based on origin, race, or belief. It follows the vision, principles, and methodologies established by its founder, Lord Baden Powell, in 1907.

The aim of the movement is to foster the comprehensive growth of young individuals, enabling them to realize their complete physical, intellectual, emotional, social, and spiritual capabilities. This development empowers them to become responsible citizens and active contributors to their local, national, and global communities.

Women Cell and ICC

The object of women cell is to create social awareness about the problem of women and in particular regarding gender discrimination. To develop the self confidence of women. To guide women about their rights. The college aims at empowering women to become independent, self-reliant, confident and enlightened. We also try to inculcate values of altruism in our student.

An online lecture on Menstrual Health & Hygiene was conducted in collaboration with Global Hunt Foundation on 26-02-2024. Members of women cell also marked their presence in this session. The resource person Dr. Nitya Chaudhary gave a remarkable presentation on “Menstrual Health & Hygiene”. She also acquainted the students with knowledgeable information. Students learnt a lot about mental Health and hygiene.
